CANNON HALL MUSEUM, PARK AND GARDENS is a country house museum and parkland located between the villages of Cawthorne and High Hoyland, Nr Barnsley, South Yorkshire. Originally the home of the Spencer and later the Spencer-Stanhope family, it now houses collections of fine furniture, paintings, ceramics and glassware. The Hall is a stunning Georgian country house museum which is set in 70 acres of historic parkland and beautiful landscaped gardens which are perfect for walking or a picnic. Weddings regularly take place in the grounds, these offer a spectacular back drop for any event.Our events are Cannon Hall usually take place twice a year. These events are always popular, and due to the amount of grounds available, are always spacious no matter how busy they are.
FLEMINGATE SHOPPING CENTRE With a host of big name stores including Debenhams, Superdrug, H&M, Wilkos, River Island and Peacocks, fabulous restaurants such as Estabulo and Subway, plus Anytime Fitness and fantastic film and theatre at Parkway Cinema, there really is something for everyone. All our events will take place outdoor and with a range of traders taking part, these are sure to compliment the offering at Flemingate.
HORNSEA VILLAGE (Formerly Hornsea Freeport) With landscaped surroundings and a relaxed atmosphere, our charming shopping village lets you shop at your leisure, discovering a wide range of stores in a relaxed, pleasant, and dog-friendly setting. You’ll find a great café, family-friendly attractions like Bugtopia Hornsea Zoo, The Potteries celebrating Hornsea’s ceramic heritage, and an extensive selection of stores, each offering up to 50% off well-known brands.
Located near Hornsea Beach, Hornsea Mere, and beautiful countryside, it’s the perfect spot to shop, relax, and explore the East Yorkshire coast.
HOWDEN SHIRE HALL Howden Shire Hall was built in 1871 as a market hall and assembly rooms for significant gatherings. Its distinctive Dutch Gothic style and stepped gable make it an iconic part of the town’s landscape. Over the years, it has served in many roles. This Grade II listed building has been at the centre of Howden’s social and commercial life for over 150 years and stands at the heart of the community, offering a central social space for all.
This iconic building is under the management of the charity The Shire Hall Trust, with staff, trustees and Friends of the Shire Hall (volunteers) running many of the events on offer.
THE RIDINGS SHOPPING CENTRE, based in the heart of Wakefield city centre, offers popular high street names, independent stores and a convenient, welcoming place to meet for a bite to eat or a coffee. With over 80 stores over three floors and open 7 days a week, The Ridings combines fashion, beauty, food and homeware – there’s something for everyone! Shop your favourite high street brands, then find something a little different in independently-owned stores like Made in Yorkshire, Artworld Gallery and The Wakefield Antiques & Collectables Centre. Enjoy one of the many fun, free events which are held regularly at the Centre, and with everything from craft fairs and style events to tea dances and kids’ character events, they’re suitable for all the family. TEMPLE NEWSAM (historically Temple Newsham) is a Tudor-Jacobean house in Leeds, West Yorkshire.The estate lends its name to the Temple Newsam ward of Leeds City Council, in which it is situated, and lies to the east of the city, It is one of nine sites in the Leeds Museums & Galleries group.The house is a Grade I listed building, defined as a "building of outstanding or national architectural or historic interest". The stables are Grade II* listed ("particularly significant buildings of more than local interest"), and ten separate features of the estate are Grade II listed ("buildings of special architectural or historic interest"), including the Sphinx Gates and the Barn.
